What is Cashmere?Updated 5 days ago

Cashmere is a rare natural fiber sourced from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats, known for its exceptional warmth, softness, and breathability. Unlike traditional wool, cashmere fibers are much finer, allowing garments to feel light and insulating without added weight or bulk.

Not all cashmere is created equal.

At Pura Cashmere, we use only the top 3% of global cashmere fiber — ultra-fine, long-staple yarns that measure ≤15.5 microns in diameter and average 34–38mm in length. These longer, finer fibers create garments that are softer, stronger, and pill less over time.

We work with renowned mills that supply the world’s most prestigious fashion houses — ensuring each piece we make meets the highest possible standard.

Our yarns are also certified to meet responsible and sustainable sourcing practices, including:

  • Ethical treatment of animals
  • Fair labor conditions
  • Reduced water usage and dye impact
  • Low-waste production methods

The result is a knitwear experience that feels extraordinary from day one — and is made to be worn, loved, and kept.
